With great pride and privilege, it gives me immense pleasure to serve as Head, Department of Sciences, dynamic academic constituent under Faculty of Sciences, Humanities and Languages.

Igniting Curiosity, Fostering Discovery” is our Motto. Department is committed to nurture the next generation of scientists, thinkers, and innovators. We believe that science has the power to transform lives, solve complex problems, and inspire new possibilities.

I have done doctorate degree in Chemistry from SLIET, Longowal, deemed to be University and PG degree from Guru Nanak Dev University Campus and have experience of near about 30 years of academic, research and also administrative experience of Vice Principal, Dean Academics, Deputy Director, HOD, and Faculty Advisor ISTE in Universities/Technical institutions. In research, I have more than 50 quality research publications in SCI/SCIE/ Scopus indexed/UGC care journals and conferences and published book chapters, contributed as editor of books and supervised many Ph.D. too. Presently, serving as International Reviewer of Elsevier, Royal Society of Chemistry, Taylor & Francis etc. and also recipient of various awards and appreciations at state level function for social work in 2016 & 2022 and from Ministry of Education, New Delhi in 2022 for IIC- activities and other Govt. Organizations/ Societies for teaching/ research/ reviewer work /functionaries of various bodies. Recently, I have been bestowed with ISTE best teacher award in November 2024 and received grant as Principal Investigator from PSCST, NCSCT and Government of India in March 2025 for celebration of National Science Day 2025 at our University. Department is having fourteen faculty members and many of them are doctorate in their respective field with their degrees from renowned institutions/universities.

Along with a team of dedicated, highly qualified and experienced faculty members with diverse backgrounds and research interest, and adequate facilities, we offer diverse range of programs UG - Bachelor of Science, PG- Master of Science & Ph.D. Programs in discipline of sciences such as chemistry, physics and mathematics as per New Education Policy (NEP-2020) and provide learning outcome based curriculum framework based on choice based credit system.

As we embark on a journey of exploration and discovery, department provides a supportive learning environment that encourages students to find their potential, challenge them and achieve their goals. Along with academics, our students are always at the forefront in participation and organization of various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities at National and International level to boost up their confidence and personality.

Our faculty and students engage in cutting-edge research, innovative projects, and collaborative learning experiences that push the boundaries of knowledge. Students are also involved in research through dissertation, field visits, training programmes and participation in seminars/conferences enriching them with practical and professional skills and necessary exposure to make them globally competent.

Additionally, it is a matter of pride that various projects of faculty members at national level are ongoing under DST and Seminars/ Conference/FDP/Events are being organized funded by government agencies like DST, AERB, and CSIR in collaboration with various societies and also from PSCST, NCSCT and Government of India by our faculty members at Guru Kashi University.

Guidance is provided to students for opting their career paths enabling them to have career in academia, for teaching and professorship roles in schools, colleges, or universities, opting for careers in research institutions, industries, consulting firms or government organizations and social work with NGOs etc.
