About the Programme
The M.Sc. in Entomology at Guru Kashi University is designed to provide an advanced understanding of insect biology, ecology, taxonomy, and pest management strategies. With a strong foundation in theoretical knowledge and laboratory-based learning, students gain skills to tackle real-world agricultural challenges caused by insect pests.
From an industry perspective, entomology plays a pivotal role in ensuring sustainable agriculture, food security, and ecosystem balance. Graduates are equipped to work with agricultural firms, pest control industries, and research institutions, where they contribute to crop protection, integrated pest management (IPM), and environmental conservation.
Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, or Biological Sciences from a recognized university.
- Minimum 50% marks in graduation (45% for reserved categories).
- Entrance test and/or merit-based selection as per university norms.
